Here is the 2026 BHS Spring Sports Recap
2026 Athletic Signing Day was an incredibly proud day for the Burbank High School Athletic Department. We officially celebrated our student-athletes as they signed their commitments to play at the collegiate level at a four-year University. This special event recognized the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our student-athletes who not only excelled in their sport but also led by example in our classrooms and hallways.
Burbank High School’s honorees for 2025-2926 National Signing Day are:
- Seiji Frye, Boys Golf, signing with the University of Redlands (California)
- Ryan Mendoza, Football, signing with William Wood University (Missouri)
- Exodus Freeman, Football, signing with Benedictine College (Kansas)
- Chase Miles, Football, signing with Mount Marty University (South Dakota)
- Aeryn Wickersheim, Dive, signing with Virginia Military Institute (Virginia)
We are looking forward to their future collegiate success! Go Bulldogs!
Baseball
Burbank High School’s Varsity Baseball team made significant strides during the Spring 2026 Season, and by the end, players were playing good baseball, even when facing strong competition. The team came together well, and in terms of chemistry and camaraderie, Baseball thrived as a program and became more unified as a team. The season was enjoyable and a valuable experience for everyone.
Boys Golf
The Burbank High School Golf Team placed their season in fourth place in the Pacific League, and also qualified for CIF, where they placed 8th out of 22 teams. The Bulldogs were led by Senior Seiji Frye, who placed third as an individual in the Pacific League, earning him 1st Team All League honors and qualifying him for CIF as an individual. Additionally, Coach Doug Grimshaw was named Pacific League Coach of the Year in his final season as the Head Boys Golf Coach.
Softball
Softball finished in 5th place in the Pacific League while tackling a grueling non-league schedule with success, proving their resilience and grit. Mental toughness, defensive flexibility, and adaptability were the foundation of the program for this Spring 2026 Season.
Swim
In this 2026 Swim Season, the BHS swim team nearly doubled in size from the previous year, and the results showed. Our incredible diver finished her final season with us with a 6th-place win for the CIF Southern Section in Division 3. She will go on to dive on a D1 Scholarship at Virginia Military Institute. We had several breakout swimmers who had a phenomenal year, including Marianna Maltseva, who earned 2nd in her individual event in the Pacific League in its final season, Iliana Brio, and Arman Yegshatov, amongst several others. The girls' varsity team had its first winning season in several years and boasted a 5th-place finish in the final Pacific League season. The team says goodbye to 17 seniors as this season ends, and we wish them well. We expect to fill their shoes and more as we expect next year, to grow by as much as 50% in size from this season.
Boys Tennis
Congratulations to Boys Tennis for an outstanding season. Earning a hard-fought third-place finish in the Pacific League, they advanced to Round 2 of the CIF playoffs.
Track and Field
The 2026 Spring Track and Field Season created valuable opportunities for growth and development moving forward. The girls' team performed consistently at a high level, representing the strength and culture of our program. One of the most exciting aspects of this year was the emergence of the Freshmen class, whose talent, work ethic, and potential have provided tremendous optimism for Burbank High School’s Track and Field future.
Boys Volleyball
Every level of the Boys Volleyball program found success this season. Varsity reached new heights of competitiveness. The program is looking forward to continuing to build on a strong foundation for next Spring 2027!
Fall Sports Recap
Girls Varsity Volleyball made it to the brink of playoffs in an exciting Fall 2025 Season with strong individual and team performances on the court.
Varsity Football is in second place in the Pacific League. They head to Round 1 of CIF-Southern Section Play-Offs this Friday, November 7, vs. Lancaster.
Girls Varsity Golf finished in second place in the Pacific League Rankings!
Girls Varsity Tennis finished in third place in the Pacific League, and the team is now getting ready for Round 1 Play-Offs with CIF-Southern Section
Boys Varsity Water Polo was successful in Round 1 of CIF-Southern Section Play-Offs vs Agoura. They will play the 2nd round this Tuesday vs Camarillo.
Boys and Girls Cross Country are working hard in preparation for their November 6th, 2025, Pacific League Finals.
