Film & TV Production
The Film & Television Production Program allows students to gain knowledge, skills and experiences in the field of film production and broadcast journalism. Students work in lab, broadcast studio and field environments, and utilize industry standard softwares such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
Film/TV Production I, Grade 9-12 - This introductory class provides an overview of the equipment, job responsibilities, and techniques involved in film and television. Emphasis is placed on the three stages of production, camera operation, framing and composition, script writing, lighting, and the editing process. College credit opportunity through LA Valley College.
TV Production II, Grades 10-12 - A strong emphasis on broadcast journalism, including a variety of projects including news segments, PSAs, commercials, and feature segments which will be published on BHS-TV. As part of the news show, students learn and perform a variety of jobs necessary to produce a live or taped program and build a digital portfolio relevant to an industry career. College credit opportunity through LA Valley College. Prerequisite: Film/TV Production I
TV Production III, Grades 11-12 - Students in this capstone class continue to produce a news show as well as a variety of segments. In addition to their role as a reporter, students take on leadership roles such as producing, directing and anchoring. Prerequisite: Film/TV Production II
